About Gaylen Morgan
|Born in New York City, I now live and work in Massachusetts and Maine. Many of my images have their beginnings along the coast of Maine where I spend a good deal of time recording the sky and water.
Originally trained in traditional black and white and color techniques, now I often work digitally, especially in the printing phase of the process.
My work is available at Photographers’ Showcase in Santa Fe, New Mexico and I am represented by photo-eye gallery, also in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

"Waiting", a photograph by Cambridge photographer Gaylen Morgan, is installed temporarily during the Lenten season at First Church in Cambridge as an element of worship and as an offering. The image, 52 inches tall by 48 inches wide, is
installed at the focal point of the chancel and hangs directly below a set
of 19th and 20th century stained glass windows. The image is of a window,
the cross pieces of the mullions echoing the church's cross which hangs
over the altar table. The view beyond the mullions carries the eye out over
the sea in the early morning light right before the sun breaks over the
horizon. "I wanted to create an opening in the wall onto a scene that
is contemplative, solemn and expectant" says Gaylen Morgan.
